About this tool

How Well Are We Adapting is a web-based climate change adaptation monitoring, evaluation and reporting tool for local governments in Melbourne’s western region.

Though governments around the world are beginning to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the impacts from climate change that have already occurred will continue to play out. We will face continued climate change throughout this century, making climate impacts that cannot be avoided even more severe.

The Western Alliance for Greenhouse Action (WAGA) is already committed to action and advocacy to assist local governments to the west of Melbourne respond to climate change.

For residents in the region, the tool raises awareness of local climate change impacts and how to address them. Through an internal reporting section, it also helps local government staff track the impacts on council services and assets and evaluate responses over the long term to understand how well they are adapting to climate change.
